We are currently developing an American history curriculum for students in grades one through four. The authors are veteran homeschool mom Charlene Notgrass and her daughters Bethany Poore and Mary Evelyn McCurdy, who are both homeschooling their children.

This new curriculum will have a format similar to our middle school and high school courses with easy-to-follow instructions, full-color photographs and illustrations, and engaging supplemental activities. Instead of five lessons per week, it will only have three lessons per week.

Here's a summary of what you'll find:

  • Short lessons that use true stories about individual families to explain larger events
  • Simple hands-on crafts and project ideas
  • A collection of songs, poems, and dances
  • Recommended historical literature
