Our hearts are heavy for the people around the world who are suffering because of sickness and the loss of loved ones. The news that is swirling around us can be frightening for us parents and for our precious children.
Many families are having to homeschool differently these days because of financial challenges or social distancing requirements. And many families are having to homeschool unexpectedly because of school closures.
During this difficult time, be kind to yourself and your children. It's okay if your routine gets off a bit and you take more time for cuddles and conversation. And look for opportunities to encourage your friends and neighbors who didn't plan on homeschooling this spring.
Here are a few ways Notgrass History is trying to help:
Two Free Ebooks
We are making two of our ebooks available at no charge. These resources can help you and your children pause and reflect on God's provision and peace during this crisis.
Draw to Learn the Book of Psalms provides drawing assignments based on each psalm that help your child internalize truths from God's Word. All children of all ages, from preschool to high school, can enjoy this resource.
Walking In Peace, for ages 7-12, has fun word puzzles, thought-provoking questions, and writing and drawing activities that highlight what the Bible says about peace. Students copy numerous passages of Scripture as they dig into the Word and learn about the peace of Christ, being peacemakers, the Prince of Peace, being at peace with our enemies, being at peace with God, and more.
Extended Homeschool History Trial
If you are spending even more time at home these days, you might be looking for educational videos and websites to explore with your children. And your friends and neighbors who are homeschooling temporarily might need a little help.
Homeschool History is our web-based app that you can access from any device. It helps you find books, videos, websites, and historic sites (for when things calm down!). We are extending the free trial from 30 days to 60 days. No credit card required.
If you are facing especially tough circumstances because of illness or loss of income, please reach out to us about how we might be able to help.
